An artist, during a career retrospective, is visited by hungry ghosts from his past; the subject of his most celebrated piece and his former creative partner. These spectres force him to re-view his past actions, in light of the intersecting and sometimes contradictory pressures on racialized minorities within Canadian colonialism, generating new understandings in the present, the release of old grief, and a little bit of revenge. A fantastic re-imagining of trail-blazing multi-media provocateur Paul Wong’s early years, haunted by the project that launched his career, “Murder Research,” and its dark, unexpected consequences.
