THIRST TRAP
OUT
Feb 8 & 9, 2025
Performance Works, 1218 Cartwright St, Vancouver, BC V6H 3R8
Under a charged nightclub haze, two performers move with electric intimacy, flirting, teasing, shape-shifting. Immersed in the bittersweet fragrance of oranges, OUT is a defiant challenge to the status quo that bravely carves out a new kind of space, reclaiming and celebrating our queer future.
It’s about embodying authenticity, a resistance against homophobia and transphobia that embraces various political and cultural inspirations such as voguing, dancehall and Black liberation. The performers dance in solidarity alongside global 2SLGBTQIA+ movements, breaking down violent histories to imagine something new. Something liberated. Something delicious.

THIRST TRAP
Jan 23–Feb 9, 2025
Your Bathrub
THIRST TRAP is a sound piece that audiences experience from the comfort of their bathtubs, examining the potential consequences the future might hold if the world’s resources continue to be plundered. Originally conceived during lockdown, the piece bridges distance and fosters connection through shared action, emphasizing how self-care and environmental care are inextricably linked.
Participants receive a curated pack of multi-sensory materials to transform their bathing environment into a site of reflection, all handmade or sourced from small businesses to minimize waste and postage. Part-narrative, part-meditation, the work encourages us to reconnect with our bodies, minds and surroundings.
