“How We Say I Love You” is a cabaret celebrating local Black Queer artistry, in conjunction with the frank theatre’s production of How Black Mothers Say I Love You by Trey Anthony. With the aim of creating space for Black Queer folks to love up on our own community, each act in the lineup will be invited to dedicate their set (or a part of it) to another Black Queer artist, either in the city or on the bill. Featuring a dynamite lineup of local Black Queer icons, “How We Say I Love You” is an invitation for Black Queer community and the people who love and support us to revel in our innovation, creative power, and radical love for each other and ourselves.
It’s Halloweekend! We’ve scheduled an early start so you can get to all your Saturday night shenanigans without missing any of the beauty and delight we’ve got in store for you here. Come glammed up, come in costume, or come as you are - we love it all!
This community event takes place in dialogue with the frank theatre company's mainstage show, How Black Mothers Say I Love You by Trey Anthony, running November 2 - 12 at the Cultch!
