We are thrilled to announce our 2014/2015 season!  The season commenced on July 30th with Clean Sheets 2014, the frank’s sixth annual national play reading series of new queer-themed plays in development, co-presented with the Queer Arts Festival. This year the frank featured three new plays, Buffalo Girls by Nicola Harwood, Husk by Bill Marchant, and Salvador by Rafael Antonio Renderos.

The season continues with The Masks of Oscar Wilde by Shaul Ezer with C.E. Gatchalian, a co-production with Matchmaker Productions to be presented at the 2014 Vancouver Fringe Festival. In The Masks of Oscar Wilde a modern day Oscar Wilde tells the story of his life and grapples with his legacy. In spring 2015 the frank explores religion, spirituality and queer identity with a reading series, The Aspect of Eternity featuring two Canadian plays, The Book of Esther by Leanne Brodie and Oblivion by Jonathan Brower.

In April 2015 we will present a sneak preview of Buffalo Girls directed by Diane Roberts. Featured as part of Clean Sheets, Buffalo Girls is an absurdist comedy and cabaret where we find three mannish women performing in a circus on the plains and plotting their escape.

The vision for the 2014/2015 season is to feature works that embrace, expand and excite. “Our 2014/15 programming reflects both the breadth of our interests and the depth of our artistic practice,” says Gatchalian. “Our work this season will speak to the manifold interests and concerns of our extraordinarily diverse community, written by and featuring some of our finest theatre artists.”

Come play with us this season as we continue to present queer stories on the Vancouver stage!
